Why Didn’t My File Load?

A file may not load if it has not been prepared accurately. File formats are picky. You will need to prepare your file so that it adheres to the required file format. This format has been prepared to support best practices in statistical analysis.

Use the categories below as a checklist to ensure that you have prepped your file as needed.

  • File Type
    • Saved as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file
      • Non-example: Excel file
    • An uncompressed file
      • Non-example: zipped file
  • File Name
    • Must NOT contain
      • Spaces
    • MAY contain
      • Letters
      • Numbers
      • Dashes
      • Underscores
    • Non-example: Common Assessment-English I
  • Column Headers
    • Can have
      • Columns that are grayed out in the chart, Common Assessment Data File Format
    • Must
      • Include all in the chart, Common Assessment Data File Format, (not grayed out)
      • Match the column header name in the chart, Common Assessment Data File Format, EXACTLY
      • Have the equal amount of Item Correct columns as the corresponding Student Response columns
      • Have ≥ 4 Item Correct columns (correspond to Responses)
      • Have ≥ 4 Student Response columns (correspond to Item Correct)
  • Data Details
    • Must
      • ≥ 6 unique students per staff member
      • ≥ 4 Test Items
      • ≤ amount of characters in chart, Common Assessment Data File Format, for each column header
      • Each Staff member’s ID number is different from every other staff members’ ID numbers
      • Staff ID numbers ≤ 10 digits
      • Each Student’s ID number is different from every other students’ ID numbers
      • Student ID numbers ≤ 9 digits
      • Campus ID numbers = 9 digits
      • Date in numerical format, using forward slashes; month/date/year
